Buccaneer Adventures Niue dive offer SSI dive courses from half day Try Scuba Diving courses to SSI Divecon Specialist courses. We also offer SSI freediving/ Apnea level 1 courses for those you want to experience the true "silent world" of the ocean without making bubbles. PADI courses available on request and only if a PADI instructor is on staff.
The calm, clear, warm waters around Niue are ideal for learning to dive, or for adding new skills and qualifications to your diving experience. With often only one or two participants, courses can be tailored to individual needs ensuring student divers are comfortable with their newly acquired skills.
Pre-booking is essential to ensure staff availability for courses. Please be aware course space during our peak season July-October is limited if available. Please contact the dive shop directly to make a booking or enquire about availability.
Course costs include all tuition, pool training sessions, gear hire*, boat dives and certification fees. Some courses have pre-requisites such as a dive medical or first aid certificate so please email us for further information on the courses you are interested in.

SSI Try Scuba Diving- NZ $170- Half Day fun course with some theory, a pool session and 1 dive up to 12 metres. This is designed for holiday makers who are wanting to try scuba diving with committing to a full dive course. This is not a certification course however it can go towards your open water course within 12 months, if you decide you want to continue scuba diving.
SSI Scuba Diver Course- NZ $550- 2 day course including theory, 2 pool sessions, and 2 dives up to 12 metres. This course is your first step of a dive qualification allowing you to dive all over the world with a guide up to 12 metres. You can also upgrade this certification to Open Water Diver anywhere in the world.
SSI E-learning open water course- NZ $670- 3 day course including pool session and 4 dives. With an E-learning course you complete all the theory before arriving to enjoy the pool sessions and open water dives in walm, crystal clear water. A great option for anyone not wanting to spend their relaxing holiday inside a classroom. With SSI you can complete the theory online for free before your trip to Niue.
Open Water Referral Course- NZ POA- 2/3 day course including 4 dives. Designed for the people who don't want to learn to dive in freezing cold water. All theory and pool sessions are completed by a dive shop near your home and the open water dives are completed here with us in warm crystal clear water.
Refresher- NZ $70- Pool only session for anyone who loves diving but hasn't taken the plunge in quite some time. You will go over the essential diving skills in the confined water of the pool and get yourself comfortable with the equipment before an open water dive. Maximum of 3 hours.
Advanced Open Water/ Advanced Adventurer Course- NZ $600- 2/3 day course consisting of theory and 5 dives giving you a taste of specialities available to continue your diving education. This includes a deep dive past 18 metres, and a navigation dive. Once completed you can dive anywhere in the world up to 30 metres.
Specialty Courses- POA- We offer a range of SSI and PADI specialty courses to further your underwater knowledge and skills. Choose from Deep, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Boat Diving, Ecological Diving, Digital Underwater Photography, Equipment Specialist, Computer Diving, Science of Diving, Shark Diving, Night/Limited Visibilty, and Navigation.
SSI Stress and Rescue Course- NZ$ 670- 3/4 day course includes theory, pool sessions and 4 dives. This course teaches you how to recognise and avoid stress whilst engaged in diving activities. It will also teach you about rescue management and initiation of rescues.
SSI Divemaster- POA- Course consist of up to 30 dives over 4 weeks. Your first step towards a professional career in scuba diving. This course is both fun and challenging to help mould you into a confident dive leader.
SSI Freediving/ Apnea Level 1 Course- $550- The introduction to the purest form of diving. Learn proper breathing techniques, familiarize yourself with diaphragm breathing and take a deep breath like you never have before. In the SSI level 1 Freediving course you acquire the proper skills and knowledge to participate in Freediving to depths of 60 ft. (20 meters) in the most relaxed and safest manner possible. You will develop the skills necessary to train your body to be more efficient with breath-holding, gain better respiration and muscle flexibility and learn new skills to take your Freediving to the next level.
Your Course will be with Shannon who held an Australian deep water Freediving record in 2010.
